Our client is an extremely well established and successful construction company based on the South Coast of England.

Although the largest part of their business is structural steelwork, they also have interests in roofing / cladding, loading bay equipment and design & build.

Due to continued success, they are now looking for a Steel Detailer / Structural CAD Technician for GA drawings and steel detailing duties.

The markets they operate in are industrial, commercial, agricultural, domestic and public & civil work sectors.

They design, detail, fabricate and erect all the crucial components of steel structures including lattice trusses, portal frame buildings, beam and column systems, balustrading and staircases to mansard roofs, mezzanine floors, castellated beams and gantries as well as architectural metalwork.

As a company, they use Tekla Xsteel which is now known as Tekla Structures. In an ideal world, the successful candidate will have experience of this package. However, they understand that it may not be possible to find someone with Xsteel / Structures experience. Due to this acceptance, they are more than happy to take a good steel detailer with relevant experience in another package such as AutoCAD or StruCAD and cross train them to Xsteel / Structures. People with Tekla experience are highly sought after and experience with their software is a massive boost to anyone’s CV.

If you have good steel detailing experience with any of the above packages and your background is in construction / structures then my client wants to hear form you.

NORTHERN BASED WITH WEEKLY MEETINGS IN LEEDS

Our client’s product is the UK’s market leading AutoCAD based 3D Structural Modelling software that produces automated General Arrangements.

This role will suit a confident and technically capable Engineer/Technician who has

a particular interest in 3D Structural Modelling. Working closely with the sales and

technical support teams, the Pre Sales Consultant will be involved in detailed technical demonstrations to potential new customers.

In addition to the Pre Sales activities, the successful candidate will also be involved in Post Sales implementation by way of on site consultancy and training.

Profile of Candidate

Structural Engineer or Technician
Minimum of 3 years experience in industry
Knowledge of 3D Modelling Software preferably
Eager to learn and a problem solver
Effective communicator who enjoys meeting new people
Location is flexible

Job Specification

Become proficient in the operation and technical background of the product to help existing and potential users to apply it to solving their engineering problems
Full training will be provided on the use of software and how to provide Pre Sales Demonstrations, support and training to our Users.
Pre Sales Demonstrations will already have been organised and pre qualified by the sales team.
Provide post-sales, on-site consultancy and training
Assist with the creation of training course and presentation materials
Extensive travel throughout the UK and potential for international travel
Assist with the development and testing of software

Due to increased workload, they are now looking for a service engineer for their shop floor machines.

You must be electrically biased, have experience of PLC, fault finding and be able to read and reference electrical drawings.

The work is shift based but the shifts are only two hours apart and both keep close to normal office opening hours.
