SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR
MIDLANDS / SOUTH
This role will be
within the Support team responsible for the development
and support of Oracle databases. The main responsibility
of the role will be ensuring live services are delivered
and maintained. The role will include both live support
and project activities. This role will include liaison with
other technical areas such as Operations Management, Unix
System Administrator, Infrastructure, Acceptance Testing
and Service.
Main Duties:
- Undertake Database Administration tasks for Live and Project
support including troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
- Implement Oracle Software installs and upgrades.
- Contribute to the development and continuous review of
appropriate practices, standards and guidelines.
- Provide post implementation support of delivered products
(Office / Out of Office).
- Provide technical input to infrastructure projects.
- Undertake project work, building new databases or enhancing
the existing BACS databases.
- Document and manage change to existing systems.
- Database Administration for all BACS Oracle environments.
- Live and Project Support both in and out of office hours.

Essential requirements:
- Oracle 9i
- Oracle RAC
- Oracle DataGuard
- Oracle 9iAS Release2

finance company looking for a Middleware Support Analyst
(Senior Role)
The main responsibility of the role being to ensure the
production and test system supports the LIVE applications
to a level that is defined by the requirements, standards
and policies.
Candidates will be expected to use their experience to develop
and support test and production systems. Must also possess
the skills and attitude to further improve the support team.
This role will include liaison with other technical areas
such as Application, Testing, Platform Support and Operations
Management.
Duties:
- Maintaining and reviewing appropriate practices, standards
and guidelines.
- Analysing and resolving any build and configuration issues
for Windows and UNIX OS plus any middleware components:
Apache and Weblogic
- Provide pre and post implementation support of delivered
products to systems (Office / Out of Office).
- Provide accurate cost estimates of any improvements to
the Middleware architecture.

Objective:
To deliver quality applications training meeting the needs
of businesses and funded projects, supporting individuals

Training Responsibility
- Delivery of applications training in Microsoft Office,
CLAIT, ECDL and IC3

Advising and Support
- Identify/support candidates with special needs
- Support candidates in action planning assessments
- Maximise assessment opportunities
- Advise on assessment methods which meet the needs of individual
candidate
- Provide constructive feedback to candidates

Assessing
- Ability to work towards minimising reliance on portfolio
evidence maximising observed assessment.
- Provide objective assessment decisions
- Interpret the knowledge requirements in ways that are

Requirements:
- Must be qualified in assessment, either A1 or D32 and
D33
- Must have gained or be willing to gain Microsoft Office
Specialist and CLAIT qualifications
- Must undertake and pass Key Skills at level 2 and 3 within
12 months
- Advantageous to hold a professional qualification or must
be willing to achieve within 2 years
